Job Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Manager for a Residential Children’s Service based in Newport. The salary is up to £50,000 based on 40 hours per week, with on-call duties, and the chance to help set up a new home! The organisation also runs other children’s services across Wales & Bristol. The Registered Manager will oversee the management of the Home, ensuring high standards, providing leadership, support, and direction to the team. The candidate will work with professionals and stakeholders from various external agencies.
Responsibilities include ensuring staff training plans, overseeing staff rota and annual leave, maintaining professional relationships with the team, multi-agency partners, and families. Support for Care Leavers in preparing for independence, attending relevant meetings, and ensuring the upkeep of communal areas is also required.
The role involves supporting young people in planning healthy eating, budgeting, laundry, cleaning, personal care, and guidance on money management. You will also provide guidance on careers, education, training, mental health, drug use, relationships, and medical compliance.
You will set standards within the house, promote good conduct, manage health, safety, security, and risk, supervise staff, and support recruitment processes ensuring safe recruitment practices.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People)
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
* At least 2 years’ experience in operational and service management in a residential setting
* Experience working with children with EBD in residential care
* Experience in team development and management training
* Child-related/Social care qualifications
* Clean driving license and access to own car
