Electrical Quality Engineer – Power & Renewables (Scotland)

We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Quality Engineer to play a key role across large-scale power and renewable energy projects throughout Scotland. This is a long-term opportunity with a strong project pipeline, offering stability, progression, and the chance to work within a high-performing multidisciplinary environment.
About the Role
You will lead and support Quality activities from pre-construction through to project handover, ensuring all work meets required standards while driving a proactive Quality culture across teams and supply chain partners. This position suits someone who thrives in complex engineering environments and enjoys influencing best practice on-site and across wider project functions.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, maintain and monitor Project Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans.
* Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Planning, Commissioning, EHS, client teams and supply chain partners.
* Provide training and guidance to project teams on Quality procedures and expectations.
* Lead lessons-learned workshops and support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Manage walkdowns, 2-week lookaheads, and track planned vs actual Quality performance.
* Conduct internal audits to verify compliance with QMS and project Quality Plans.
* Support implementation of Quality & LEAN Construction policies.
* Monitor KPIs including snag trends, checklist performance, installation readiness and handover status.
* Deliver First-of-Kind/Benchmark programmes to maintain consistent installation standards.
* Identify Quality risks and drive corrective action plans as required.
What We’re Looking For
* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent Electrical trade qualification.
* 5+ years’ Quality Management experience within an engineering or construction environment.
* Experience in HV/MV substations, transmission & distribution, or cable jointing (advantageous).
* Strong knowledge of applicable industry standards.
* ISO 9001 auditor certification and experience conducting audits.
* Ability to lead RCA investigations and implement corrective actions.
* Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strong planning, organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to implement and manage Quality processes and procedures across complex projects.
