Job Summary
Double Four Café is a growing independent café in Barking. We are building a strong
food identity around brunch, grab & go, and homemade baked goods and we're
looking for a passionate part time Brunch / Café Chef to join our team
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook dishes to a consistent, high standard..
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes while adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
* Assist with menu development, recipe testing, and seasonal specials
* Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Enforce food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen environment.
* Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
* Develop new menu items based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
* Maintain food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP compliance).
Requirements
* Proven experience in a similar Chef role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
* Strong brunch and café-style food skills with extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques.
* Minimum 1 year experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
* Flexible and reliable able to work weekend.
