The Research Operations and Strategy (ROS) group support SRUC’s aim to deliver high-quality challenge focussed findings to help understand and transform the world.
As well as monitoring and providing strategic direction for SRUC research, Research Operations and Strategy provides advice and services for colleagues in the Schools, Veterinary Services and SAC Consultancy to support excellent research and project delivery. This includes:
* Embedding and making the most of our research management information system
* Quality assurance and financial modelling
* Maximising the success within the research landscape
* Doctoral College - students and supervisors
* Quality Assurance and contractual support in our research and commercial delivery
* Supporting and enhancing our research environment at SRUC
* Research reporting, monitoring and auditing including with funders, internally and institutional reporting including Research Excellence framework, HESA, SFC and rankings
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Reporting & Integrity Officer to join the Research Operations and Strategy team based at Edinburgh Campus. The post holder will carry out the administrative functions of delivery and reporting of larger portfolios (e.g., RESAS), incorporating all elements of the research activity, reporting, meeting planning and recording:
* Support the ethics process for research projects, ensuring research complies with legislation and good research governance
* Reporting of all aspects of larger portfolio projects that sit across SRUC. For example, the RESAS portfolio. Work will include:
* Ensuring that information received from scientists is accurately recorded and reported in a timely manner
* Monitoring of research progress, assisting with preparation of reports/other material for reporting to funders and collation of research metrics
* Monitoring of financial information relating to the portfolio (using CBS) and liaising with Management Accounts as required
* Following up on any queries relating to the larger programmes of work
* Other general duties associated with managing larger portfolios including coordinating internal/external meetings, supporting claims, invoicing and audits
* Assisting other team members with tasks supporting the Academic Division as required
The post holder will be required to communicate and report progress on larger portfolios to researchers and managers.
This dual function role will also lead on the administration and delivery of processes supporting research integrity and governance activities.
Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a good general standard of education, e.g., HNC level, or equivalent, in a relevant field, with a strong quantitative financial component.
