About Us
Pen‑Y‑Bont Surgery is situated in St. Asaph, a cathedral city in North Wales. The practice consists of 5 GP partners, 2 practice nurses, 1 health care assistant and a team of care navigators/administrators. Working as part of the NHS, we offer an excellent pension, off‑road parking and a supportive, friendly and caring team.
Job Responsibilities
* Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
* Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
* Have thorough knowledge of all practice procedures.
* Work in accordance with written protocols and policies.
* File post in medical records.
* Photocopy/scan documents as requested.
* Process appointment requests via telephone and digitally.
* Process registrations of new patients.
* Signpost to other services.
* Process patients’ change of address.
* Process repeat prescription requests in accordance with practice guidelines.
* Have working knowledge of the telephone system.
* Answer telephone where necessary.
Qualifications
Essential Experience:
* Good standard of education.
* Practical experience of working with others.
* Experience of using own initiative / multitasking.
* Experience of providing excellent customer service.
* Practical experience of computerised systems.
Skills:
* Excellent communication skills.
* IT skills.
* Interpersonal skills.

Desirable:
* Experience of working in a GP practice would be advantageous.
