Quantity Surveyor - Major Rail Infrastructure JV | LondonSalary: £45,000 to £58,000 + packageHybrid workingAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering this high profile, heavy civil engineering project in West London. The Quantity Surveyor will be tasked with overseeing a number of packages across the project which include twin-bored TBM tunnels, sprayed concrete lining, shaft sinking, bridge reconstruction, earthworks, and major services diversions. It's large-scale, long-term, and genuinely interesting work.
They're growing their commercial team to deliver a planned ramp up in work and can offer exciting career prospects for the right people.The RoleThe successful Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for pre and post-contract commercial duties. You'll work as part of an integrated project team, either independently or under the direction of a Senior Quantity Surveyor, with real responsibility from day one. The focus is on delivering accurate, value-generating commercial input across the full lifecycle of your allocated works.What You'll Be DoingContract management and administration, ensuring all notices and correspondence are accurate, timely, and compliantPreparation and assessment of applications for payment, valuations, and cost/value reconciliationCost control and forecasting, including monthly reporting on value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow, and budgetIdentifying, analysing, and responding to commercial risks - feeding into risk and value management at project levelPreparing supply chain enquiries, negotiating, administering, and closing out subcontractsProviding contractual advice to the project and site team as requiredOngoing liaison with site teams, subcontractors, and the client's commercial representativesMaintaining commercial records, meeting packs, and minutes in line with contract and company requirementsWhat We're Looking ForNEC contract experienceRelevant degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) and at least four or more years of UK civil engineering experienceAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsProactive, solutions-focused approachExcellent communication skillsRight to work in the UKWhy This Role?Beyond the scale of the project itself, my client is genuinely invested in the development of their people - whether that's APC support, further study, or progression into more senior commercial roles as the programme grows.
