We are looking to appoint a cleaner to join our existing team to clean our facilities at RSPB South Stack. This is a permanent 4 hours per week contract to clean our volunteer accommodation and reserve office, 3.5 hours per week during peak season falling to 1 hour per week in the winter. From Easter to October you must be available to work Fridays for 1.5 hours between 10am and 3 pm to clean volunteer accommodation. The hours also include cover for our existing cleaners' holiday and sickness where flexible availability will be essential. Working hours are to cover 7 days and include bank holiday working. Hours to be discussed and explained fully at interview. You must be committed to delivering the highest standards of cleaning, presentation and service. Main duties include thorough cleaning of a domestic property to include changing beds. Holiday cover will be cleaning the visitor centre, shop, café, toilets and offices. You will need to be self-motivated, efficient, great at cleaning with an eye for detail. Own transport is essential as there is no public transport. RSPB South Stack is one of the most popular RSPB nature reserves in the country with around 130,000 visitors a year. Visitors come to see the amazing wildlife we have to offer, from charismatic and rare chough to puffins as part of our sea bird city. We have a newly refurbished visitor centre offering a great experience to all who visit. Essential skills and experience: Knowledge of the use of cleaning products (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)) to ensure products are used in a safe and appropriate manner. Understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace and manual handling. Time management skills. Ability to engage positively and communicate effectively with office and site staff. Experience of working in a busy commercial environment. Experience of managing and safely transporting cleaning products around the site/office. Desirable criteria: Knowledge of environmental issues.
