The post-holder is responsible for providing high-quality, comprehensive clinical, administrative, and clerical support within the Radiotherapy department. The individual will carry out delegated tasks to ensure appropriate care, information, and support are given to all patients and their carers. The role includes supporting treatment machines, pre-treatment imaging, and outpatient clinics within The Christie network by managing workload efficiently to maintain high standards of patient care.
Responsibilities include providing reception cover, collating, inputting, and analyzing relevant patient data, problem-solving, and effective communication. Under the medical team's guidance, the post-holder will undertake routine tasks such as patient observations, phlebotomy, urinalysis, ECG, glucometer readings, and dressing changes, once trained and competent.
The post-holder must contribute to the efficient running of the service and work within The Christie NHS Foundation Trust policies and health & safety legislation.
Planning and Organisation
* Triage and management of booking forms, scheduling radiotherapy planning and treatment across all sites.
Other Responsibilities
* Stock control in designated areas and production/processing of relevant treatment completion letters.
Patient Care
* Perform delegated duties, record patient information, and manage care packages.
Effort
* Patient transfer and manual handling tasks as required.
Communication Skills
* Accurate recording and input of treatment data, scheduling appointments, greeting and escorting patients, and assisting with appointment queries.
Knowledge, Training, and Experience
* Problem solving, forward thinking, and knowledge of integrated clinical information systems for data collation, referrals, and radiotherapy completion tasks.
