KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY OR RESPONSIBILITY Provide tailored guidance to female players to support dual-career management. Assist with personal development planning, including transition support between age groups, clubs, or post-career pathways. Develop and deliver workshops on time management, financial literacy, resilience, and career planning. Collaborate with coaches, sports psychologists, and education providers to create a cohesive support structure. Ensure safeguarding and welfare practices are embedded in all aspects of the program. Maintain accurate player engagement records and report key insights to stakeholders. Develop and implement a female-specific health and well-being strategy. Deliver education sessions for players, coaches, and staff on topics such as menstrual health, RED-S (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport), injury prevention, and nutrition. Work with sports science, physiotherapy, and medical teams to integrate best practices in female athlete health into training and competition plans. Lead research and policy development to enhance long-term female athlete welfare. Monitor health trends within the player pathway and implement interventions where needed. Provide ongoing training for coaches and support staff on female athlete health considerations. Advocate for improved policies and protocols to support female footballers at all levels. Support international camps in the role of Player Care and Education Officer as required by the organisation (20 days Minimum) Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required. PERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications A relevant degree in Sports Psychology, Sports Science, Education, or a related field. Level 3 Certificate in Athlete Personal Development and Lifestyle (APDL) PGCE or equivalent (Desirable) Level 3 Pre/Postnatal Exercise Qualification or equivalent (Desirable) Knowledge Strong understanding of the female football landscape, including unique challenges and opportunities. Knowledge of safeguarding and duty of care in sport. Understanding of female-specific health considerations such as menstrual cycle tracking, energy availability, and injury risks. An understanding of the lifestyle and performance requirements of elite athletes. Awareness of FAW, UEFA, or governing body regulations regarding player welfare. Proven experience working with pre- and post-natal athletes in a performance or rehabilitation context. (Desirable) Experience Previous experience in performance lifestyle support, dual-career management, or personal development in elite sport. Experience in delivering workshops and education sessions. Experience working with female athletes, particularly in football. Experience collaborating with medical, psychology, and performance teams in an elite sport setting. ROLE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS The appointment of the successful candidate(s) will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and two professional / personal references, to the satisfaction of the FAW. In addition, the FAW will ask to see evidence of right to work in the UK. Ability to speak Welsh is advantageous This role will involve unsocial hours, including evenings and weekends.
