Post No. POSN002999 - Shared Prosperity Fund Programme Manager
Newport City Council's Regeneration and Economic Development team is looking to recruit a UK Shared Prosperity Fund Manager, reporting to the Strategic Economic Development Manager, to provide business support across its UK Shared Prosperity Fund programme.
The SPF programme manager's role is to ensure NCC meets its responsibilities as a partner authority within the wider Cardiff region. The programme and team are well established, with reporting structures in place with Rhondda Cynon Taff (the Lead Authority) and all projects within the programme. The role involves liaison, performance monitoring, relationship building, and collation of data relating to key performance outputs and outcomes indicators agreed between senior management and Rhondda Cynon Taff.
Given the budget and scope of activities, SPF is a priority for NCC. Effective communication is essential to keep senior management informed of any proposed project changes in a timely manner. The role includes preparing progress reports on projects for staff and leadership at Board level, ensuring positive activities are highlighted and amplified by NCC.
The post holder is expected to proactively develop, implement, and embed new ways of working with SPF leadership. They will monitor and maintain service standards and respond proactively to programming and project issues. The ability to work at pace is crucial due to tight delivery timescales, especially concerning quarterly claims.
This is an internal vacancy only.
We welcome applications in either Welsh or English. Applications in Welsh will not be treated less favorably than those in English.
Newport City Council is committed to increasing workforce diversity and particularly encourages applications from minority ethnic communities in the city. Selection will be based on ability and skills relevant to the role.
Applicants should already have the right to work in the UK, as the council is not currently supporting sponsorship for right to work.
