Head Chef – Luxury Boutique Hotel & Restaurant, East Lothian
£45,000 per annum + gratuities + 10% bonus potential

Xpress Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a luxury boutique hotel and restaurant located on Scotland's stunning Golf Coast in East Lothian. With 27 beautifully appointed rooms and a vibrant restaurant and bar serving 70–80 covers daily.
As part of the hotel's exciting growth plans, I am looking to speak with exceptional Head Chefs to lead the kitchen and drive the restaurant towards achieving multi-Rosette status in 2025/2026.
About the Role:
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Head Chef with a proven track record in a high-quality, ideally Rosette environment. You will be instrumental in setting and delivering a consistently high standard using local and seasonal produce. This is a hands-on role suited to a passionate and driven chef looking to make a name for themselves in a stunning part of the country.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and inspire a small, dedicated kitchen team, fostering a culture of professionalism and continuous development
Create and deliver innovative, seasonal menus showcasing the best of Scottish produce
Maintain consistently high standards of food preparation, presentation, and service
Ensure all food safety, hygiene and kitchen compliance standards are adhered to
Manage kitchen budgets, stock control and supplier relationships
Work closely with the General Manager and front of house to ensure a seamless guest experience
Mentor and develop junior chefs, promoting learning and progression across the team
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience as a Head Chef in a quality-driven environment (Rosette experience highly desirable)
Passion for local, seasonal ingredients and contemporary Scottish cuisine
Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
A natural mentor with a commitment to nurturing talent and team morale
Ambition to take the restaurant to new heights and be part of its success story
