Quality Engineer – Shotton Mill Project

Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Engineerto support the delivery of their Shotton Mill Project in Deeside. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in fabrication and pipeline works, with a proven ability to lead quality assurance functions on major industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide operational leadership to on-site Quality Coordinators, Inspectors (across various disciplines), and Document Controllers.
2. Conduct technical reviews of industry standards and client specifications; develop Project Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
3. Manage the qualification process for new Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQRs) and Welder Qualifications.
4. Implement and monitor KPIs and continuous improvement processes (PDCA cycle); conduct internal and external audits, as well as quality health checks on suppliers and subcontractors in line with client requirements.
5. Oversee non-conformance reporting (NCRs), perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and facilitate lessons learned reviews.
6. Expedite the preparation, review, and client approval of Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) to meet project milestones.
Requirements:
7. Proven experience in quality engineering within fabrication and pipeline environments.
8. Strong understanding of welding qualifications and documentation standards.
9. Familiarity with quality management systems, audit protocols, and NCR processes.
10. Effective leadership and communication skills.
11. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and meet tight project schedules.
