Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our Medical Consultant Team at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a consultant‑led service, undertake inpatient clinical activity, develop structured models of care, monitor and evaluate quality, and provide visible leadership aligned with the Trust’s values.
Responsibilities
* Appointed on a 10 Programmed Activity (PA) contract to deliver inpatient clinical activity across surgical and escalation wards housing medical outliers.
* Lead on developing structured models of care for this patient group.
* Ensure robust mechanisms are in place to monitor and evaluate the quality of care delivered to medical outliers, identify successful areas and address deficits.
* Provide visible and supportive leadership that aligns with the Trust’s values and behaviours.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high standard care.
* Lead on continuous improvement initiatives and audit work that brings about change.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice.
* Inclusion on the Specialist Register / Admission to the Register within 6 months of interview.
* Primary Medical Qualification (e.g., MBChB).
* MRCP UK or Ireland.
* Good understanding of clinical governance.
* Evidence of audit work and resultant change.
* Evidence of research participation.
* Experience teaching juniors, medical students and other health care professionals.
* Appropriate Home Office status to undertake a career post in the UK.
* Evidence of relevant peer‑reviewed papers and publications (desirable).
* Postgraduate degree (desirable).
