We are looking for a motivated and detail‑oriented Housing Technical Support Officer to join our Private Sector Housing team. With the commencement of the Renters' Rights Act and the impending Additional Licensing of HMOs in the Borough, this is an exciting time to join the team to play a key role in improving housing standards, supporting enforcement activity, and contributing to safer, better‑quality homes in our communities. You'll work as an authorised officer, providing technical, operational and administrative support across a range of housing functions, including licensing, compliance, and case management.
Responsibilities
* Manage and respond to service requests, including case monitoring, site visits and follow‑up actions.
* Maintain and update key systems, including the Housing Notices Register and Rogue Landlord Prosecution database.
* Produce accurate records, reports and responses to formal information requests such as FOIs.
* Support service improvements, income generation initiatives and promotional activities.
* Demonstrate strong communication, organisation and analytical skills.
* Possess knowledge of housing legislation and enforcement processes, or the ability to develop this quickly.
* Work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
* Manage competing priorities and respond effectively to a fast‑paced, changing workload.
Qualifications & Experience
* Preferably has experience in a regulatory or enforcement environment.
* Good standard of education (GCSEs including English and Maths, or equivalent experience).
* Confident using IT systems and databases.
