The Opportunity
Our established regional office in Penistone, South Yorkshire has a brand‑new opportunity for an experienced SME or Commercial Account Handler to join their growing team. This key role will be responsible for generating revenue and developing the profitability of the business whilst ensuring full FCA compliance in all aspects of commercial insurance.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure accuracy, efficiency and professionalism when dealing with both client and insurer and conduct high‑quality work in relation to: new business, renewals, mid‑term adjustments, claims, queries, premium finance arrangements, and issuing cover notes.
* Ensure all business activity fully complies with FCA regulation and company procedures as detailed in the Conduct Policies and Guides to Best Practice.
* Always promote exceptional customer care standards.
* Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with all clients and provide expert product advice and guidance.
* Actively secure renewal business by re‑broking existing business to ensure the client is presented with the most suitable and cost‑effective cover.
* Promote and increase the use of in‑house premium finance from insurer schemes.
* Support our Account Executives with duties where required.
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience in an Account Handler role within a broker environment.
* Working knowledge of most SME or commercial insurance products.
* Experience of working to high standards of FCA compliance.
* IT skills, including use of an insurance IT system, ideally Acturis.
* The ability to work to a high level of accuracy.
* Exemplary customer service skills with the ability to build solid relationships with clients and insurers.
* Regulatory and compliance awareness.
* Willingness to work towards Cert CII or already hold the qualification.
