We are seeking a Workshop Engineer to join our busy and growing workshop as part of their Service & Repair department.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious person to join an innovative and fast paced company


Role and Responsibilities

Workshop Engineer is responsible for the inspection, repair, overhaul, testing, and refurbishment of pumps, motors, and mechanical equipment when required used predominantly within the water and wastewater industry. This is a Workshop based role with occasional site attendance.


The role ensures all equipment is returned to service efficiently, safely, and in line with DPS Quality and HSQE standards.

* Dismantle, inspect and clean, fault diagnosis, and rebuild
* Mechanical seal replacement and alignment
* Bearing replacement and shaft inspection
* Motor inspection
* Pressure testing and operational testing of completed rebuilds
* Input into Workshop Service Reports with findings and recommendations
* Identify additional repair requirements and report to Service Supervisor
* Complete job sheets accurately and on time Input into parts required
* Maintain workshop quality standards in line with ISO management systems
* Other duties reasonably associated with the role


Skills & Qualifications:

* Mechanical experience (pump maintenance or repair preferred)
* Machining experience desirable
* Strong fault-finding ability
* Ability to read mechanical drawings
* Experience using workshop machinery and hand tools
* Good understanding of safe practices
* Full clean driving licence
* NVQ Level 3 (or above) in Mechanical Engineering desirable
* Strong attention to detail
* Safety-focused
* Organised and methodical
* Ability to work under time pressure
