Finance Business Partner

Location: Heywood – UK (Hybrid)

Introduction

Lineage is the world’s largest and most innovative provider of temperature-controlled logistics solutions – this means we help move food from farms to the dinner table, with more than 25,000 employees across over 480 locations and spanning 20 countries across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and South America.

Having drastically increased our European footprint in a short period, we are looking to appoint a Finance Business Partner that is keen to learn and manage the financial aspects of our warehouses, amongst other, Heywood (Manchester area). This is one of our bigger sites in the UK.

The role

Lineage UK is currently looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our Commercial Finance team. Reporting to the FP&A Senior Manager, the ideal candidates possess in-depth experience in finance and/or accounting combined with strong technical skills, natural curiosity and the ability to thrive in a highly collaborative team environment and experience in a retail, logistics or warehouse environment. You will be working closely with Operations teams as well as Finance. As the Finance Business Partner, you will need to be highly effective working with cross-functional teams and building strong working relationships with operating and functional leaders, both domestic and abroad.

Tasks include:

1. Develop strong relationships based on mutual trust and respect with operating leaders, providing a robust link between the operations and finance

2. Drive financial results via data analysis, including key trends, variance analysis and development of financial models for decision support

3. Complete monthly UK reporting and forecast processes including variance analysis and explanations including concise snap-shot reporting comparing actual financial performance against budget, forecast, and business and customer expectations

4. Complete business plan (budget and quarterly forcasting) processes, including year-over-year analysis of site, business unit, and uploads into relevant software

5. Produce weekly KPI reporting as well as analysis of the figures

6. Produce accurate financial information to various stakeholders across the business

7. Improve processes and productivity by developing automated reporting and forecasting tools

8. Presentation of monthly results and KPI reports to Ops Teams

9. Drive overall business analysis, understanding and actions using key performance indicators (KPIs), including non-financial metrics

10. Provide financial, KPI, and statistical information to management, customers, and other third parties

11. Willingness to travel where necessary

Who we’re looking for:

Ideal candidates possess experience in accounting combined with a natural curiosity and eagerness to learn. Have an ability to review and challenge the status quo and suggest improvements on site while influencing change. This role would suit someone that enjoys working on changing priorities and have the opportunity to build great relationships. Qualifications:

12. Accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) (Qualified or Part Qualified)

13. 4+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience

14. Experience using financial systems required

15. Experience with detailed financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting required

16. Expert with Microsoft Excel and proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint

17. Working Knowledge of current accounting

18. Strong analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative), including the ability to solve practical problems and analyze processes for improvement

19. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information crisply and succinctly

20. Strong interpersonal skills and presence to quickly gain respect and build strong working relationships across the organization at all levels, including C-Suite/Executive

21. Comfort working in a hands-on, highly engaged environment and willingness to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility along with a strong work ethic and bias for action

22. Natural curiosity along with a high degree of enthusiasm, commitment, servant leadership skills and a willingness to challenge the status quo

23. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence without specific authority (cross-functional, matrixed teams)

24. Commitment to providing outstanding internal and external customer support

30. Basic salary range between £40k - £55k annual working Monday to Friday.

31. The primary office location will be Heywood (at least once or twice a week) but we support working from home.
