Niche Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with Urathon Europe Ltd, a well-established and expanding manufacturer and distributor of mobility equipment, daily living aids and medical devices, to recruit a SOLIDWORKS Engineer. With more than 30 years of industry experience and an ambitious product pipeline, Urathon is entering an exciting period of growth, with multiple new product launches and increased market presence planned.
This role sits at the heart of the product lifecycle and offers real influence within the business. As the sole on-site engineer, you’ll take ownership of hands-on engineering activity, product evaluation, quality control and R&D support. You’ll work closely with UK operations, overseas manufacturing partners and the Engineering Manager, contributing directly to product performance, quality and future development. With a clear succession plan in place, this role also offers a genuine pathway into Engineering Management.
This is a fully on-site role based in Calne, offering a salary of £40,000–£45,000 plus benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
* Evaluate new and existing products, diagnosing faults, identifying improvements and supporting design refinement using SolidWorks
* Lead quality control activities for inbound goods, resolving issues and driving continuous improvement with suppliers
* Build, assemble, test and repair products and prototypes within a workshop-based environment
* Produce, review and maintain accurate technical documentation, specifications and engineering drawings
Skills & Experience:
* Proven hands-on mechanical engineering experience, including assembly, repair, testing or prototyping
* SolidWorks experience is essential, with the ability to create, modify and review mechanical designs
* Strong understanding of materials, components and manufacturing processes
* Confident, self-motivated communicator able to manage priorities independently in a growing business
