We are looking for a caring, proactive, and enthusiastic Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join our warm and welcoming school team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and helping them thrive both academically and emotionally.
In this role, you will work closely with the Year 2 class teacher to deliver high‑quality support, small‑group interventions, and one‑to‑one assistance where required. You’ll help create an engaging, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels confident and supported.

Position: Year 2 Teaching Assistant
Contract: Full-time / Part-time
Start Date: Monday 1st June 2026
Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour
Location: Burnley
Key Responsibilities
* Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities
* Work with individuals and small groups to boost progress in reading, writing, and maths
* Help manage behaviour positively and consistently
* Prepare resources and assist with lesson preparation
* Support pupils with additional needs, ensuring their full inclusion
* Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
* Contribute to creating a safe, stimulating, and welcoming learning environment
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working with primary-aged children (Year 2 experience desirable)
* A patient, empathetic, and positive approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning
* Ability to follow teacher direction while also using your own initiative
* Relevant TA qualifications are desirable but not essential for the right candidate
