Are you passionate about supporting families and making a real difference in children’s lives? Blackpool Council’s Children’s Services is looking for compassionate, dedicated Family Workers to join our dynamic team within Children’s Social Care and Early Help.
As a Family Worker, you’ll hold a caseload of families and provide practical, hands-on support to help them overcome challenges. Working closely with parents, children, and other agencies, you will assess, plan, and deliver tailored interventions that make a lasting impact.
What You’ll Do:
Conduct home visits and direct work with families to achieve positive outcomes
Undertake whole family assessments, using evidence-based tools to identify risks and strengths
Co-produce SMART outcome-focused plans with families and partner agencies
Organise and deliver group work sessions for parents and/or children
Support supervised contact between children and parents, including transport when required
Prepare reports for assessments, reviews, and court as needed
Contribute to the development of the Family Hub model and ensure families’ voices are heard
Maintain accurate, timely case records in line with practice standards
Collaborate with colleagues in a supportive, team-focused environmentWhat We’re Looking For: Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Level 3 qualification in Social Care, Health, Education, Childcare, or Community
Experience working with vulnerable children and families
Knowledge of safeguarding, child development, and relevant legislation
Ability to communicate effectively and build professional relationships
Experience delivering group or family-focused interventionsDesirable:
Accreditation in evidence-based programmes (parenting, domestic abuse)
Accreditation in specialist assessment tools (e.g., PAMS, AIM)
