We have a fantastic opportunity for a Community Transport Assistant to join our healthcare transportation team based in Redhill. This role involves transporting children with Special Educational and Disability Needs (SEND) to and from healthcare or educational facilities. The position entails working full time Monday to Friday and will involve working in Patient Transport as well.

Responsibilities
* Assist children with special educational needs during transport to ensure their safety and well-being.
* Drive carefully and considerately to safely transport children to and from their place of education using EMED vehicles.
* Support children in boarding and alighting from the vehicle and provide any necessary physical assistance.
* Maintain a calm and positive environment during transport and address any behavioural or emotional needs that may arise.
* Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and school staff regarding transportation arrangements.
* Ensure all safety EMED protocols are followed, including use of seat belts and appropriate seating arrangements.
* Be familiar with safeguarding policies.
* Report incidents or concerns promptly to your line Manager/Operations Manager.
* Assist in maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.
What you’ll need
* Full UK driving licence with no more than three penalty points.
* DVLA D4 Medical pass.
* Obtain and hold a PHV Licence (EMED Group can assist with this).
* Deliver excellent customer service.
* Display a calm, considerate and careful driver behaviour.
* Effective and confident communication.
* Team collaboration.
* Pass an Enhanced DBS check (fully funded by EMED Group).
