Overview
The Property and Campus Services department of the University is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to the Design Group, on a 1-year Fixed Term Contract. The role is to provide professional Quantity Surveying services and cost / commercial management expertise on construction projects and works across the University’s diverse Estate and Campuses, which includes building refurbishment and improvement, major repairs/maintenance, mechanical and electrical alterations. You will work as Quantity Surveyor on minor/major capital projects and revenue works within the value band of circa £25k to £10m, to ensure that projects and works are delivered to the agreed programme, budget and quality, working to recognised standards. The role will report to the Head of Design Group.
This is an exciting role for an individual who has a Degree in Quantity Surveying with suitable experience in this specialist role.
The post is advertised on a 1-year Fixed Term Contract basis, with requirement to work 35 hours per week and to be office based minimum 3 days per week.

Qualifications
* Degree in Quantity Surveying with suitable experience in this professional Quantity Surveying role.
Responsibilities
* Provide professional Quantity Surveying services and cost / commercial management on construction projects and works across the University estate and campuses.
* Manage projects from minor to major capital projects and revenue works within value band £25k to £10m, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality.
* Prepare cost plans, estimates, procurement strategies, contract administration and cost reporting.
* Work with the Head of Design Group and project teams to achieve project objectives.
* Ensure compliance with recognised standards and University procedures.
Experience and Skills
* Degree in Quantity Surveying with relevant experience in the role.
* Experience on construction projects, refurbishment, major repairs/maintenance, and M&E alterations.
* Strong cost management, contract administration and reporting skills.
* Ability to work across multiple projects and deadlines; office-based at least 3 days per week.
