About the Role:
We are looking to appoint a caring and proactiveLevel 2 SEND Teaching Assistantto join our inclusive and welcoming mainstream educational setting. This role involves supporting learners with special educational needs across a range of ages and abilities, both in the classroom and during small group or one-to-one sessions. You will play a key role in helping students succeed both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide individualised support to students with SEND, including those with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs
* Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENDCos, and external professionals to deliver and adapt personalised learning plans
* Encourage student independence and engagement using a variety of strategies and resources
* Use visual aids, communication tools, and sensory-friendly approaches where appropriate
* Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour, using a calm and consistent approach
* Monitor and record progress, contributing to reviews and parent/carer communications
* Provide personal care where required (training will be provided)
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* ALevel 2 Teaching Assistant qualification(or equivalent)
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a mainstream setting
* A patient, flexible, and compassionate approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* An understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to inclusive education
