Job Summary
This role offers an opportunity to join successful established teams, working alongside some of the best engineers in the industry. It involves working on a diverse portfolio of marine, coastal, and inland waterway projects across the UK.
Job responsibilities include:
* Designing marine structures such as quay walls, jetties, dolphins, slipways, berthing, and mooring systems
* Providing technical and professional guidance to junior engineers
* Collaborating within a team environment
* Communicating technical matters with clients and internal teams
* Preparing technical reports
* Being chartered or near-chartered with a strong desire to develop professionally
* Having demonstrable experience in marine structure design
* Using FE modelling software like STAAD Pro, LUSAS, SAP2000, or similar
* Understanding buildability and sustainable design principles
* Knowledge of maritime standards such as BS6349 and PIANC
* Designing lock gates, heavy-duty pavements, breakwaters, and linkspans
* Engaging in coastal engineering design and assessment
* Experience with temporary works design
* Utilizing engineering software like Optimoor, Wallap, or Plaxis
Qualifications:
* MEng in Civil Engineering or an equivalent degree with a minimum 2:1 classification
