Mller Milk & Ingredients Distribution (MMID) is the UKs leading producer and distributor of fresh milk, cream, butter, and dairy ingredients. As part of the Mller UK & Ireland Group, MMID operates a nationwide logistics network across multiple dairies and distribution depots, delivering over 1 billion litres of milk annually to more than 6,000 locations. About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to lead our Tanker Logistics team in Market Drayton. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the cost-efficient collection and delivery of raw milk while maintaining exceptional service standards. Youll lead a high-performing team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with all legal and safety standards.
Location : Market Drayton Depot ( TF9 3UY)
Contract: Full Time/Permanent
Shift : Monday-Friday (40 hours)
Operations Manager Key Responsibilities;
Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
Manage depot operations, including rota planning, staffing, and cost control.
Deliver against KPIs and OGSM targets.
Drive customer service excellence for both internal and external stakeholders.
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Ensure legal compliance for drivers and vehicles.
Conduct performance reviews, training, and disciplinary procedures.
What Were Looking For;
Proven experience in senior-level transport operations.
Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Knowledge of haulage legislation and employment law.
ICT proficiency and data-driven decision-making skills.
Qualifications
Essential:
Minimum 5 GCSEs (AC or equivalent)
O Licence CPC Certification
IOSH Certification
Desired:
Experience in milk or food logistics
Familiarity with unionized environments (e.g., USDAW)
