Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic senior clinical fellow to join our busy tertiary level Neonatal Intensive Care team. The hospital has approximately 6,000 deliveries annually, many of which are high-risk referrals to the UHS Fetal Medicine.

The UHS Neonatal Service, based at Princess Anne Hospital, offers comprehensive Neonatal Intensive Care, including neonatal surgery, cardiac services, and the Network Neonatal Transport Service (SONeT). The NICU is expanding to 42 cots, with about 800 neonatal admissions per year.

UHS is a lead centre within the Wessex Neonatal ODN Network, providing a full range of subspecialty services and receiving referrals from surrounding hospitals. Neonatal intensive care includes high-frequency oscillatory ventilation, nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia, and management of extremely preterm infants born at >22 weeks gestation.

Working for our organisation

As one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, we offer extensive learning and development opportunities. UHS is rated 'Good' by the CQC and ranks highly in NHS Staff Survey for staff engagement and recommending the hospital as a place to work or receive care.
