Domiciliary Support Worker or Home Care Worker A Star Support Services are seeking Support Workers to provide care and support to individuals in their own homes. This allows people who are elderly, have disabilities, or are recovering from illness or surgery to maintain their independence and quality of life in a familiar environment. This role requires care and passion, reliability, sympathetic towards clients, to promote independence, to be non-judgemental, to have charisma and to give the best quality of care for our clients. Key Responsibilities: Personal Care: Assisting with tasks such as washing, bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Mobility Assistance: Helping clients move around their home, including getting in and out of bed, chairs, and using mobility aids safely. Medication Support: Reminding and assisting clients with taking their prescribed medications. In some cases, they may administer medication after specific training. Meal Preparation: Planning, cooking, and serving meals according to dietary needs and preferences. Household Tasks: Performing light housework such as cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, laundry, and managing household supplies. Shopping and Errands: Assisting with grocery shopping, collecting prescriptions, and other necessary errands. Companionship: Providing emotional support, engaging in conversation, and reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation. Social Activities: Supporting clients to participate in social activities, hobbies, and appointments. Monitoring Health: Observing and reporting any changes in the client's health or well-being to senior staff or family members. Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of the care provided. Responding to Emergencies: Being prepared to respond to emergencies and provide basic first aid if necessary. Liaising with Others: Communicating with family members, healthcare professionals, and other members of the care team. Ensuring a Safe Environment: Identifying and addressing potential hazards in the home. The Role is shift and rota base, working Mornings calls, Lunch Calls, Tea Calls, Evening Calls or All. We pay for your mileage from client to client homes and pay for the time in between calls. 28 days holiday including bank holidays. Double pay for bank holiday work, subject to contract.
