Learning Support Assistant (SEN/SEMH) - Specialist Schools

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? Teaching Personnel is working closely with a range of specialist SEN and SEMH schools across the New Forest area and is seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join supportive and inclusive school environments.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to pupils who require tailored emotional, behavioural, and educational support.
Your Role Will Include:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN or SEMH needs
Supporting learners with needs such as Autism (ASC), SEMH, SLD, PMLD, and associated behaviours
Assisting with communication strategies, sensory regulation, and emotional support
Working closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams to support individual education plans (IEPs)
Helping to create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
Supporting with adapted learning activities and, where required, personal care or physical support (training provided)
We’re Looking For:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH (school, care, or youth work settings)
A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Willingness to engage in training for behaviour support, safeguarding, and physical intervention if needed
A genuine passion for helping pupils reach their full potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
