Shift Schedule and Compensation
Work 28 hours per week on a 4‑day on / 4‑day off rota, 6 p.m. – 2 a.m. shift. Base salary £20,435.20 plus a 15% shift allowance.
Role Summary
Perform and guide microbiological analysis to ensure water safety. Analyse and interpret data, maintain equipment, record results and support continuous improvement in a fast‑paced laboratory environment.
Main Responsibilities
* Operate instrumentation and carry out analyses in line with the Laboratory Management System.
* Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
* Analyse and interpret data, and complete all laboratory paperwork.
* Document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment records.
* Enter data accurately into the Laboratory Information Management System within set timeframes.
* Ensure sample stability and turnaround targets for the given analysis.
* Prepare standards, reagents and quality control samples in accordance with company procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
* Relevant academic qualification or scientific subject at NVQ level3 equivalent or above.
* Willingness to work towards full membership of a professional body.
* Excellent numeracy, literacy, computer literacy and laboratory skills.
