Job Opportunity: Health Care Assistant - Acute Medical Unit (Ward 7)
Join our team as a Health Care Assistant in the Acute Medical Unit (Ward 7). In this role, you will assist healthcare practitioners with routine health activities, personal care, and daily living activities, ensuring patient-centered care.
Your responsibilities include recording patient information, supporting clinical tasks such as measuring physiological observations, blood glucose, ECG, and venepuncture. You will maintain high-quality care with excellent interpersonal skills.
Note: Changes to UK immigration policy effective from 9th April 2025 have increased the minimum salary threshold for sponsorship applications. The NHS salary for new starters is aligned with Agenda for Change, starting at £24,937, which may not meet sponsorship criteria.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare the unit environment for patient care.
* Perform delegated tasks including vital signs, ECG, venepuncture, and blood glucose levels.
* Maintain infection control standards.
* Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and the healthcare team.
* Develop personal skills and knowledge, supporting team development.
* Ensure safety and security in the work area.
* Assist in service development and evaluation.
* Use technology for measurement, monitoring, and treatment.
* Work flexibly, including unsociable hours, to meet service demands.
