Overview

Braefield Nursing Home is based in the picturesque village of Connor, located between Antrim and Ballymena. Braefield is a 56 bedded Nursing Home spread over 3 units and is registered with the RQIA for 18 individuals with nursing and mental health needs, 17 individuals with physical disability requiring nursing needs and 21 individuals with dementia nursing needs. The categories of care we cater to are Mental Health Nursing, Frail and Elderly Nursing, and Dementia Nursing. The team is dedicated to providing a high standard of person-centered care.

We offer sponsorship for this role; candidates within the UK may apply. This role requires full flexibility (Monday to Sunday) with shifts allocated on a rotational basis, including a combination of 8am–8pm and 8pm–8am shifts depending on day or night needs. Availability and preferred shifts cannot be requested or allocated in advance.


The Role

The role of a Registered Nurse in our Mental Health services is pivotal in providing specialised care and support to residents with mental health needs, promoting wellbeing and enhancing quality of life. The Registered Nurse is a leadership role responsible for managing the care of residents and delivering high-quality, person-centred care. The nurse will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care plans tailored to individual needs. The nurse will support shift management, ensuring resident and staff safety, and will commit to ongoing personal and professional development to positively impact residents and their families.


Responsibilities

* Adopt a systematic, individual approach to all resident care plans and communicate outcomes to the team both verbally and in writing, ensuring all risk assessment documentation is kept up to date.
* Ensure effective communication of any concerns relating to resident care.
* Deputise in the absence of the Unit Manager.
* Support and supervise new staff.
* Manage assessment, implementation and evaluation of individual patient care plans while promoting a professional working environment to maintain a high standard of resident care.

Required Criteria

* Valid UK NMC pin
* A Right to Work in the UK
* Ability to work independently and supervise a team
* A good standard of written and oral English


Desired Criteria

* Minimum of 6 months mental health nursing experience
* Previous care home experience

£22.15 per hour
