Job Description
Our market leading Manufacturing and Engineering client is recruiting for a Power Electronics Engineer to design, develop and implement power electronics and auxiliary circuits. This includes all technical disciplines required to deliver these circuits including component evaluation, circuit analysis and simulations, thermal and mechanical design, PCB review with consideration for manufacturing requirements. This role requires working as part of a larger team on significant projects or taking on smaller design challenges independently as and when required.Power Electronics Engineer role –
* Solid understanding of power electronics.
* Creation of new designs.
* Design of critical power components.
* Design and develop analogue, digital, electronic circuits, and systems for power electronics.
* Creation of new product specifications.
* Implement designs, which meet agreed functional design requirements and conforms to international EMC and Safety requirements and regulations.
* Participate in product design reviews.
* Preparing concise and clear technical documentation and reports.
* Presenting, discussing, and justifying design concepts and ideas.
* Contribute to technical design reviews, constructively critique, and challenge others’ designs.
* Managing and facilitating test type meetings plus developing test equipment
Power Electronics Engineer profile
* Degree in Power electronics with 5 years+ as an Engineer
* Have an awareness and desire to explore emerging technology in the field, innovating ways to incorporate that into designs and products.
* Must understand power electronic devices, topologies, and control systems.
* Have used simulation tools (e.g., PLECS, Saber, Simetrix, Pspice or Mathlab Simulink simulators)
* Ability to build prototypes, experimentation on systems and bench test.
* Strong analytical skills and mathematical skills.
