JOB DETAILS JOB BAND: B CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed-Term Contract / Attachment, Full-time till 31 December 2026 DEPARTMENT: BBC Children in Need LOCATION: Salford or London - Hybrid PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £24,600 - £30,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. London weighting may be applicable. We're happy to discuss flexible working. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE Join our award-winning team dedicated to showcasing the impact of Children in Need funding on children and young people across the UK. We give young voices a platform to share their stories and celebrate the support they've received, whilst providing unique and often life-affirming experiences for them. You’ll work with editors and producers to support on the delivery of compelling content that meets the highest creative and editorial standards with gold standard safeguarding. Your Key Responsibilities And Impact To support a team of Senior Content Producers and Editors in delivering a variety of fundraising and awareness raising activities with BBC programmes To work with BBC production teams across TV, radio and digital platforms, providing practical support to help them deliver CiN related content To carry out research in a variety of areas and to keep detailed and organised logs of any research To source contributors to feature in content, in particular children and young people who are supported by the organisations that we fund To work at CiN events that may be happening throughout the year, and to support in the planning and execution of these events To collaborate with internal CiN teams, involving them in Content activity when appropriate and supporting them where possible To develop a knowledge of the causes and projects we fund and be able to suggest stories from these projects that would make engaging content for different BBC programmes Essential Criteria YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Journalistic skills to carry out in depth background research, keep accurate notes and critically evaluate for relevance and suitability. Experience of working as a researcher or similar for TV or radio output. Casting experience of sourcing children or young people and a working knowledge of BBC safeguarding and Editorial Guidelines. Experience of working with sensitive subject matters and vulnerable contributors. Experience of working on multiple work streams simultaneously, delivering to deadlines and remaining calm, focussed and positive when under pressure. Desired But Not Required Experience of working with multiple stakeholders and external partners. Experience of representing an organisation when dealing with the public. Experience of working with high profile talent. Strong interpersonal skills, emotional resilience and ability to maintain effective working relationships with a range of people. Effective planning and organising skills, ability to concentrate on several areas of work at one time, delivering consistently to deadlines and reacting positively to changes and conflicting priorities.
