Social Worker - Special Intervention Team
Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Special Intervention Team based in Luton.
The salary for this full-time Social Worker role is up to £41,799 per annum.
Responsibilities:
1. Complete clear, accurate, and holistic assessments of needs and risks concerning children and families, utilizing the Department of Education and Luton's support documents for children in need and potential harm. Lead the coordination of multi-agency efforts to prevent and address child protection issues.
2. Undertake statutory duties under The Children Act 1989 and related legislation, including care proceedings, adoption, risk assessments, and investigations. Attend court as the Council's representative and manage Court Orders.
3. Create effective SMART plans aligned with the Practice Framework, leveraging available resources, and ensuring needs are met through negotiation and collaboration with colleagues and service users. Promote anti-discriminatory practices and empower children and families.
4. Build positive relationships with children and their families, promoting participation and ensuring their voices are heard.
5. Maintain high-quality, accurate case files in the council's social work database, Liquid Logic, ensuring timely and compliant record-keeping in line with GDPR.
6. Provide witness statements for court when required, adhering to internal and external agency standards.
7. Take responsibility for continuous professional development (CPD) through regular supervision and training, including participation in the Social Work Academy and Research in Practice.
Minimum Requirements:
* Degree or equivalent in Social Work
* Current registration with Social Work England
* Experience in Children's Services
* Full driving license and access to a vehicle
