Procurement Specialist - Professional Services Location – Hybrid Flexible (Selby/Northampton/London/Ipswich) Permanent Are you an experienced Procurement professional who enjoys working in an engaging and collaborative environment? About the role As an experienced procurement professional, you will thrive in a busy commercial environment. You'll build meaningful and strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive procurement excellence at every stage of the process. Reporting directly to the Procurement Lead, you’ll be part of the successful delivery of the overall procurement strategy for Drax. Day-to-day you'll be responsible for all aspects of the Source to Contract cycle across our Professional Services suppliers including the well-known consultancy firms. Spend in this category is likely to be more than £25m and presents a unique opportunity to work closely with Drax senior leaders and ExCom who sponsor a number of these important supplier relationships. You’ll play a key role in the development and implementation of sourcing strategies to maximise value whilst ensuring the right level of governance is applied. You’ll also provide day to day procurement guidance and advice to other team members. Building new relationships and working with a wide range of internal customers will be the key to success in this role. You’ll work closely with the wider procurement team, to ensure continuous improvement and best practice is shared throughout the team to optimise performance. About you You’ll already have strong technical procurement skills linked with an ability to drive best practice. Ideally you’ll also have experience in creating and executing a successful category strategy for professional services in a complex, global, multisite organisation. You’ll also demonstrate excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, and the ability to implement opportunities for innovation. You’ll be comfortable in proactively challenging stakeholders and demand, while providing a prompt, efficient and personalised service to internal customers at all levels. This is imperative, to ensure that customer needs are met, and productive relationships are built and maintained. You should also be effective in ensuring departmental policies and processes are communicated and followed. It is key that you’re a self-starter with a ‘can do/will do’ attitude who has the energy, drive and commitment to make things happen and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies to form alignment. The ability to identify key opportunities for Procurement support and prioritise workload effectively is essential.
