We have an exciting role on offer within our Public Protection service as a Principal Public Protection Officer.
Middlesbrough Council’s Public Protection Service is passionate about improving the lives and living standards of all its residents, protecting the environment, protecting consumer interests, and supporting a strong local economy. We are pleased to offer an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join our Public Protection Service.
Working alongside other Principal Officers and Service Managers you will play a leading role, delivering key statutory functions. This post will provide the Service lead for addressing the issues in relation to empty and problem properties, maximising the use of legal powers, bringing them back into use working together with the owners and other partners.
You will also work across the wider Public Protection functions and on corporate matters such as emergency planning. We are particularly interested in candidates who have considerable knowledge and experience in dealing with empty properties, although this is not essential, and who have proven skills, experience and qualifications in management.
If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding role, are resilient, adaptable to change and have good interpersonal skills, we would welcome you to join our strong, friendly team.
If you would like to learn more about the role and what we can offer please contact Judith Hedgley, Head of Public Protection by email on.
We operate a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for applicants that can show they meet all the essential criteria and have indicated they have a disability, are a looked after young person, care leaver or a veteran.
