Overview
Our client is a global Tier‑1 financial institution based in Sheffield, looking for a high‑impact Solution Architect. This pivotal role requires a visionary technologist who bridges cutting‑edge automation with mission‑critical legacy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Design end‑to‑end CI/CD architecture and produce detailed technical diagrams.
* Lead the transition toward fully automated workflows using Ansible, Python, and Go.
* Collaborate with Risk Management teams to ensure designs meet strict Credit, Market, and IT Ops risk standards.
* Modernise legacy environments, including Mainframe (z/OS) and File Transmission workflows (IBM SFG/SSP).
* Work within an Agile framework to deliver high‑quality, documented solutions.
Qualifications
* 5+ years in an architectural role focused on Ansible and Jenkins.
* Expertise in shell scripting and at least one high‑level language (Python or Go).
* Experience with BMC Control‑M or Mainframe job execution highly desirable.
* Consultant mindset – the ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse global stakeholders.
Location & Type
Location: Sheffield (Hybrid – 3 days per week on site). Type: Full‑time or subcontract work available.
