Package Details
* A salary of up to £40,000
* 25 days holiday + bank holidays
* 40-hour week with flexible start/finish options
* Office-based role in Wakefield
Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer
* Design and develop bespoke assembly and automation equipment
* Produce and maintain 3D models and detailed drawings in SolidWorks
* Ensure all designs meet manufacturing, technical and customer requirements
* Work within time and cost constraints on all projects
* Liaise with suppliers and customers throughout the design and build process
* Support other departments in identifying improvements to existing products
* Carry out occasional mechanical assembly work as needed
* Purchasing of materials and components for projects
Experience Required of the Mechanical Design Engineer
* Solid experience in a mechanical design engineering role
* Proficient with SolidWorks (or similar 3D CAD packages)
* Knowledge of design for manufacturing, GD&T, and product development
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Familiarity with working in project-led, bespoke engineering environments
