About the Role
A large, oversubscribed 11–18 secondary school in York is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to support the full range of HR operations. The postholder will work closely with SLT, support safer recruitment processes, manage employee relations cases, and ensure the school's HR function runs smoothly and compliantly.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage end-to-end recruitment for teaching and support staff
• Lead on pre-employment checks and maintain a fully compliant SCR
• Advise on absence, capability, disciplinary, and other ER matters
• Support staff wellbeing and CPD processes
• Maintain HR systems and ensure GDPR compliance
• Provide accurate HR reporting to senior leaders
About You
• HR experience in a school or public-sector setting
• CIPD Level 3 (minimum), Level 5 desirable
• Knowledge of KCSIE, safer recruitment, and ER procedures
