**Python Developer** (Contract)
Duration: 12 Months (Possibility for extension)
Location: London/Hybrid (3 days per week on site)
Rate: A highly competitive Umbrella Day Rate is available for suitable candidates
Role Profile
As a Python Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing complex server-side components that support our core engineering streams. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand complex requirements, prioritize tasks, and maintain momentum in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise will help unblock current bandwidth constraints and ensure the successful delivery of our project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop high-quality, scalable server-side components using Python (Java is a plus).
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
* Embrace Agile and Lean software development practices to enhance project delivery.
* Engage with demanding stakeholders, articulating problems and solutions clearly and concisely.
* Leverage your knowledge of Quartz technology stack and derivatives risk domain to inform your development work.
* Stay updated with the latest trends in financial services, particularly in derivatives risk systems, and apply this knowledge to your projects.
Skills & Experience:
* Demonstrable Python development experience, with optional proficiency in Java.
* Proven experience in financial services, specifically within markets related to front office derivatives risk systems or pretrade/origination/post-trade management systems.
* A degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.
* Strong understanding of Agile and Lean software development practices and tools.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions.
* Knowledge of the Quartz technology stack is a strong advantage.
* Familiarity with pricing and risk management of derivative products, including Greeks and Scenarios.
* In-depth knowledge of equity derivatives, including futures, options, and convertibles.
