ACCA has an opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to join the Business Analysis Team within our People and Transformation Directorate on a fixed term contract until May 2027. This role can work remotely with occasional travel to Glasgow.

Across our programmes, BAs are involved in the full lifecycle, helping shape new initiatives, defining requirements, improving processes and supporting the delivery of them into the business. We work with both Agile and waterfall approaches depending on the project so welcome BAs with experience of delivery in either.
We have a large BA community which means there is always someone there to help. As a Senior BA, you will report to the Programme Lead Analyst on a day to day basis. You will lead analysis activities within a Programme, being accountable for delivery and quality of analysis services and managing the analysis activities for a team of BAs. You will engage across the organisation and work at many levels, including heads of and 3rd parties. You will play an active part in the development of best practice for the BA community and consistently demonstrate the value of the discipline.
The Job
* Provide business analysis services to support the organisation during the full lifecycle of any change initiative
* Lead the Business Analysis activity within a larger Programme to ensure the successful transition to future state
* Collaborate with operational and technical teams where appropriate to effectively scope, design and implement strategic and tactical business change
* Prepare and facilitate project/programme meetings/workshops as required; (incl. requirements elicitation, impact assessment and business process design workshops) and undertake all analysis required for the meeting/workshop inputs and outputs
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels within the organisation, influencing and supporting Senior Stakeholders
* Support initiation of the project, defining analysis approaches, estimates and plans for delivering BA activities
* Work within established practices for analysis to deliver required outcomes
* Support the direction of the Programme lead analyst
* Contribute to the development of business analysis processes and deliverables and support implementation of new technologies
* Familiar with MS Teams, Jira, Confluence and Miro
The Person
* Highly motivated, resilient, proactive and enthusiastic individual with the ability to work as part of a team to deliver business outcomes
* Strong leadership experience within an analysis role
* Proven track record in a business analysis role, ideally with full lifecycle experience on a variety of project types
* Experience of employing a broad and diverse range of business analysis best practices, methodologies and tools
* Experience of business process mapping using BMPN 2.0 and process improvement
* Experience working with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
* Skilled in requirements elicitation and elaboration using a variety of techniques ideally including user stories and acceptance criteria
* Ability to challenge business and technology areas in order to achieve the optimal future design of any change initiative
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and support senior Stakeholders through difficult decisions.
