We are currently seeking a Motivated, Passionate individual to join our dynamic team as a Flying Start Parenting worker to join our dynamic Team.
Flying Start is a Welsh Government program, which seeks to provide support for pre-school children and their families within identified areas, and to deliver specific outcomes for children. Working under the supervision of the Flying Start Parenting Lead, as part of a multi agency Team you will carry out a range of duties to support the continued development and delivery of parenting support within the project, with a key focus promoting positive parenting to families. Experience of Parent Nurture training, or a commitment to attending in-depth training is crucial to the success of the project..
As a Flying Start Parenting Worker, you will be allocated a caseload of families with varying needs and offer a range of interventions including 1:1 support at home and in the community, facilitating and running different groups for families to attend, keep accurate and robust records, some cases will be very complex and the role will also involve lone working. A sound Knowledge/awareness of Safeguarding and Child Protection issues is essential The post holder will possess a wide range of skills and experience of working with and alongside parents that are facing difficulties. An ability to work under pressure to complete work by agreed timescales is essential.
About you:
Do you have:
1. a relevant Level 3 Qualification or above
2. A sound knowledge of child development
3. Willingness to undertake training in supporting parents and young children.
4. A calm and understanding manner, with a person-centred approach
5. Understanding and/or experience of parenting in the current climate
