2x 37.5 hours per week. Although these are band 8a posts, they are also open to newly qualified psychologists as a band 7 preceptorship.
Job Summary
We offer input to adults with complex and diverse mental health needs in a friendly, supportive, well-established fully integrated, Adult Community Mental Health Team. We embrace and offer various psychological approaches: Integrative, CAT, CBT, Compassion Focused, ACT, Psychoanalytic psychotherapy, MBT, EMDR and Family-Systemic psychotherapy. The role encompasses multidisciplinary working, service development, individual therapy, group, supervision and consultation responsibilities, providing a wonderfully diverse working role.
Main duties include working with a team of professionals to promote psychological ways of working, supervising and supporting less experienced staff, and contributing to clinical appraisal, research and service development. There are strong links with the University of Leeds Doctoral Training and the Trust’s research and clinical outcome links. Audit and evaluation are encouraged and supported across the Trust.
Key Responsibilities (Band 8a)
* Provide a high quality specialist clinical psychology service within a multidisciplinary team.
* Undertake highly specialist psychological assessment and intervention.
* Advise and consult on psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and carers, working autonomously within guidelines and policies.
* Supervise and support Psychology Assistants, Trainees and Band 7 HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologists.
* Utilise research skills for audit, policy, and service development.
* Offer consultation, supervision and training to other agencies as required.
* Manage a caseload and provide risk assessment and intervention for service users.
* Follow local Safeguarding Adults and Children policies and liaise with relevant agencies.
* Ensure autonomous professional responsibility for assessment, treatment and discharge of clients.
* Communicate treatment plans and evaluate progress with service users and families/carers.
Key Responsibilities (Band 7)
* Provide the specialist clinical psychology services within the multidisciplinary team at Band 7 level as described above; be involved in supervision and CPD.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: Band 7 and Band 8a qualifications appropriate to the post; Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology; HCPC registration; completion of supervised clinical practice in the NHS; safeguarding training; UK visa sponsorship eligibility (as described).
* Desirable: Experience in teaching, training, supervision; experience with diverse client groups; knowledge of adult and child protection legislation; evidence of research skills; experience of group work.

* Excellent communication skills; ability to form robust therapeutic alliances; empathy and ability to handle difficult situations; ability to travel within the Trust; IT literacy and psychometric assessment skills; ability to supervise and train junior staff.

* Salary: £47,810 to £62,682 per year (Band 8a; Band 7-8a dependent on experience)

* UK Registration: Current Health and Care Professions Council registration as a Clinical Psychologist required.
