Interim SENCO & Deputy DSL (Maternity Cover)

We are working with a well-regarded and inclusive primary school in South Liverpool that is seeking an experienced Interim SENCO & Deputy DSL to join their team from December 2025 to cover a period of maternity leave.
This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and knowledgeable professional to lead on SEND and safeguarding across the school. You will benefit from a paid handover period to ensure a smooth transition and ongoing support from a strong and collaborative leadership team.
The Role:
* Lead and coordinate SEND provision throughout the school
* Support and guide staff to deliver inclusive, high-quality teaching
* Oversee EHCPs, interventions, and progress tracking
* Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, working closely with the DSL
* Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and external agencies
What We re Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with recent primary experience
* Proven experience as a SENCO (with or without NASENCO qualification)
* Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
* Confidence in supporting safeguarding and child protection
* A proactive, compassionate leader with excellent communication skills
