Join us as a Building Services Shift Technician Take on a new challenge as a Building Services Shift Technician and join our Data Centre team in Edinburgh This is an exciting opportunity to take on a varied and critical role, supporting the safe and efficient operation of essential mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems Working within a 24/7/365 environment, you will act as a trusted partner across operations, collaborating with teams to enhance processes, improve performance, and deliver exceptional customer experiences What you'll do As a Building Services Shift Technician, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the site, ensuring the ongoing performance and reliability of all facility services. You'll Act as the key interface for any projects within the property, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace with planned and reactive maintenance, through the helpdesk and supply partners. In addition, you’ll be: Maintaining a safe and efficient working environment through planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring 100% uptime Delivering facilities services in line with approved procedures, standards, and service level agreements Supporting M&E upgrades, project work, and infrastructure investment initiatives Managing and controlling permit-to-work systems for maintenance and project activities Monitoring and reviewing key performance indicators, identifying trends and implementing improvements Ensuring compliance with operational standards, quality processes, and regulatory requirements Managing supplier and contractor relationships to optimise performance and value for money Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and suppliers Acting as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on facilities operations, risk, and compliance The skills you'll need To succeed in this role, you’ll need a solid technical background and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, critical environment. We'll also look to you to bring: HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Experience with building services and M&E systems in a critical environment Strong understanding of risk, compliance, and safety management practices Hours 35 Job Posting Closing Date: 20/05/2026 Ways of Working:Office First
