Deputy Children's Home Manager
Location: Berkshire
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (inclusive of sleep‑ins)
Contract: Full-time – Shift Work & Office-Based Duties
About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced and committed Deputy Children's Home Manager to support the leadership and day-to-day running of a residential children's home in Berkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Residential Support Worker or existing Deputy Manager looking to progress within a supportive and child-focused environment. You will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home provides high-quality care, strong safeguarding practices, and positive outcomes for young people.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager in overall management of the home
* Lead shifts and provide hands‑on support to the staff team
* Ensure safeguarding procedures and care standards are consistently met
* Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and placement stability
* Supervise, mentor, and develop staff members
* Assist with rota management, audits, and compliance
* Build positive relationships with young people, families, and external professionals
* Participate in sleep‑ins and on‑call duties as required
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years' experience in residential childcare
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
* Full UK driving licence – essential
* Experience supporting young people with EBD and/or complex needs
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and children's home regulations
* Ability to lead shifts and support team development
