Senior Design Services Manager – Waste Treatment & Bioresources Design Team
Based in Raynesway, Derby, you will be responsible for delivering the consultant‑led waste treatment and bioresources design programme. You will play a key role in leading and managing the project team and project lifecycle from promotion through to completion of the outline design, ensuring all project deliverables are achieved on time, within cost and to agreed quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Management: Coordinate, write and manage multiple Service Orders for professional design services so that project deliverables meet design and project requirements.
* Coordination and Collaboration: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between sponsors, designers, planners and other stakeholders.
* Design Oversight: Guide the design process, understand the inputs required to support design development, differentiate between change and design development, and ensure compliance with Severn Trent’s programme requirements and safety standards.
* Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks throughout the design phases.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal stakeholders and the wider supply chain to ensure project alignment and optimal outcomes.
* Governance: Support the progression of projects through Severn Trent’s gated process in a timely and efficient manner, providing necessary information and recommendations to decision‑makers at each gate review.
Qualifications & Requirements
Ideally you are degree qualified (or equivalent) in a technical engineering discipline or a qualified Project Manager with the APM (Association of Project Managers) or are working towards completing these qualifications. Experience managing NEC projects and the ability to handle multiple complex engineering design projects are required. Excellent communication and influencing skills, and the ability to build successful working relationships with internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, are advantageous. A full UK driving licence is required.
