About Us

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) is a world‑leading organisation at the forefront of engineering innovation. Home to some of the UK’s brightest engineering minds, we work with hundreds of industrial partners across automotive, aerospace, rail, construction, food & drink and more.

With strong roots in academia and industry, and supported by one of the largest public‑sector investments in UK manufacturing, MTC continues to grow rapidly across multiple UK sites – including Ansty Park (Coventry), Oxfordshire, Liverpool and the North East.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Facilities Coordinator to play a pivotal role at our Oxfordshire Advanced Skills (OAS) facility. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Operations Manager, with matrix accountability to the Centre Head and Programme Manager, you’ll ensure the site remains a safe, welcoming and best‑in‑class working environment. This is a hands‑on role with local autonomy, offering the opportunity to make a visible impact while remaining aligned to wider MTC safety, quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Act as the local lead for all facilities and property matters at the OAS site
* Build and manage effective relationships with landlord representatives and act as the single point of contact
* Serve as the main customer contact for all site users regarding facilities services
* Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring statutory compliance and best practice
* Diagnose faults and oversee effective repairs across building services and equipment
* Support site security, access control and business resilience arrangements
* Ensure all works meet health, safety, environmental and quality standards
* Manage contractor and supplier performance in line with MTC policy
* Support continuous improvement, cost‑saving initiatives and net‑zero objectives
* Oversee local utilities and energy management
* Act as a workplace ambassador, ensuring a positive employee and visitor experience
* Support emergency response arrangements, including out‑of‑hours escalation

* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a customer‑facing facilities or estates role
* IOSH Managing Safely qualification
* Broad knowledge of hard and soft FM services
* Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills
* Experience working in a Higher Education or similar environment
* Commercial awareness with experience reviewing cost proposals
* Confident user of Microsoft Office 365
* Full UK driving licence
* Resilience, adaptability and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Desirable

* NEBOSH National General Certificate
* Experience using SLA/KPI frameworks for performance management
* ISO accreditation experience
