MPI has a requirement for Aircraft Mechanical Instructors based in Cosford, Wolverhampton, West Midlands.
Immediate start subject to Security Clearance.
This position is in scope of IR35.
The Aircraft Mechanical Instructor role is an ongoing contract, working 37 hours per week for 44.4 weeks per year. Holiday will accrue to cover the shut-down period (if PAYE). Additional stand-down may occur during air-shows, potentially adding a few weeks, details of which will be discussed at interview.
Rate of pay: In Scope Umbrella £37.68/hour, PSC £32.94/hour, PAYE £27.50/hour.
The Mechanical Training Flight (MTF) delivers technical training to RAF and IDT Personnel at DSAE Cosford. The contractor will deliver instructional training normally carried out by a D Grade SIO, providing instruction for Phase 2 & 3 career courses, including courses like ATFTM CN1237, ATFT Av 1238, A Tech Mech CN1235, Weapons 1242, and international equivalents.
Qualifications required include an Ordinary National Certificate, BTEC, SCOTVEC in the relevant subject, plus practical experience in the trade or specialism as per MOD SIO PG MPD.
The successful candidate will report to the Aircraft Training Manager and will be responsible for classroom and practical instruction within the aircraft discipline and related subjects. Duties include lesson preparation and producing training support materials.
Responsibilities include supervising students, applying Health and Safety and COSHH regulations. Teaching experience is desirable but not essential; candidates with a strong airframe, propulsion, mechanical, or technician background will be considered for training to become trainers.
Main duties involve identifying training needs, developing training materials, managing course delivery, monitoring trainee progress, evaluating training programs, and researching new learning technologies and methodologies. The role also involves keeping up-to-date with training developments and employing e-learning techniques where appropriate.
