Specification Sales Manager

Location:
Crayford, Kent

Permanent | Full Time

Hours of work : Monday – Friday | 08:45 - 17:15 (with 1 hour lunch) however, by its nature there is flexibility to the hours that this position requires.

About Us

LightGraphix design and manufacture lighting for architectural, marine and display use. Founded in 1979 we now have over 40 years' experience in the lighting industry, we have built up a reputation for high quality, well made and innovative products backed up by efficient and reliable customer service. We have the pleasure of working with some of the top lighting designers around the world, and many of our products have been developed in consultation with them. We are very proud of the fact that all our products are manufactured in the UK which helps us ensure innovation, quality, flexibility on delivery and the production of custom fittings. We have supplied lighting for a wide variety of projects throughout the world, with 50% of our production now exported.

The company has seen significant growth over the past few years, now more than twice the size with over 100 employees and a secondary business unit to help house our test facilities and additional assembly lines.

current growth in sales both here in the UK and abroad. It represents an ideal career opportunity to

We are after an effective Salesperson who will bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm into the

business. They will be based both in the office, and on the road seeing clients. You will become a key

contact for our customers, representing us out in the market, being capable of building relationships

with specifiers and working on project-based lighting solutions. You should have the practical

experience of being able to conduct demonstrations, light a room and present a solution. Personality

is as important and you will need to be professional, dynamic, proactive with a positive attitude to

succeed, natural enthusiasm with good technical acumen who approaches all aspects of their work with professionalism and diplomacy. Team spirit is a must as you will be working closely with the internal sales team, working as a team to support and increase sales to your allocated client list.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

* Build close and lasting relationships with new and existing customers
* Increase sales and specifications to those customers
* Build a high level of knowledge on the LightGraphix product range
* Understand LightGraphix capabilities and what makes us different in the market
* Continue our reputation for providing great technical advice and solutions to our customers
* Present our product range to new and existing customers, both in person and remotely
* Keep our products at the forefront of our customers minds
* Make contact, and visit contractors of major projects, with the aim of guarding the specification against alternatives
* Attend site meetings to improve relationships with contractors/lighting designers and to aid the smooth installation of our products
* Listen to customers feedback on our products and relay this back to the design/management team
* Create quotes for customers using the companies quoting database
* Technical back up to sales which can include wiring/driver issues, dimming, set out advice, problem solving and suggesting most suitable products to use – in the process helping the Sales Admin Team to improve their lighting design knowledge
* Keeping up to date with industry trends and potential competitors
* Work solely for LightGraphix promoting their products
* Working on exhibition stands both in the UK and abroad

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

* Must have 3 years minimum experience in lighting field sales.
* Must have knowledge and a good understanding of how the construction industry works in the UK.
* Must understand the RIBA stages of construction and how to use them to identify project progression.
* Must have passed the LIA certificate course or equivalent.
* Must be a strategic thinker, able to identify problems before they occur and find solutions to win projects.
* Must be able to work to targets, forecast sales, delegation is key.
* Must have a knowledge of the different construction contracts.
* Must have a proven record of achieving sales growth

Of benefit but not essential:

Understanding of Dialux/Relux/autocad
